I never ever went to Prom, so I thought I'd have one for my 30th birthday party! My actual birthday is June 2nd, FYI! Come one, come all!

10 things you don't know about Jenny Dayco!

1. I make everything myself, no joke!
2. I cry at every animated movie, and at every romantic comedy starring Jennifer Lopez! (So far Maid In Manhattan is still my favorite)
3. I pray for everyone who has worn, touched, or purchased any of my jewelry. (Thought it would be something nice to do, and it's very humbling for me!)
4. My job is 98% hard work, and 2% glamour! (LOL)
5. I have NOT actually met any of the celebrities wearing my jewelry, although I do see a lot of celebrities around LA! (Wish I could meet them, I would tell each and every one of them "Thank you for your support!")
6. I am still DYING to run into someone I don't know wearing my jewelry! That only happened once...or twice...? :)
7. When I make jewelry, I actually watch a lot of silly movies starring Jackie Chan and Will Ferrell. Or sing along to Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne, etc.
8. I'm actually an overgrown dork.
9. I don't always wear my jewelry out in public! It gets hard to decide what to choose when I walk out of my apartment!
10. I LOVE sharing my experiences and offering input to designers who are just starting out, or anyone curious about the fashion industry in general. :)

An oldie but hilarious goodie...

Here is a year old pic of me with the uber-fabulous designer Jeremy Scott! I was just thinking of him today, and I thought I would post this hilarious clip of his short film, "Starring" in 2003. I was casted in the movie as a "fur wearing jailbird". I still have no idea how the hairstylist got all my hair to be that big!! LOL!!! (I'm at the 4:26 mark!! OMG!!!)

I'M IN LOVE

with PARIS!! I'm currently at the end of my week-long stay in Paris, then jetting off to London!! Paris is so beautiful, so far my experience seems like a dream!! Also, I seem to be getting better sleep here...? I love it, I really can't wait to come back!! I'll upload some pics for all of you to see!! :)

A Thank You Note to Greg Armas

Dear Greg,

I couldn't have done all this without you. Thank you for giving me my first opportunity to get my jewelry career started in 2004. I remember how nervous I was when we had our first appointment, I had no idea what I was doing! Looking back now, I'm a little embarrassed by that moment, but I know I've come a long way since then! Thank you for your silly suggestion that I turned down at the beginning, that has now grown into my full fledged career! I hope that someday our paths cross again so that I may extend my gratitude in person.

For Martin

My friend Martin Meraz just passed away, and he is partially responsible for me getting my early career (pre-jewelry) started in LA. If I had never met him, I would have never known a few friends who are nearest and dearest to me. He always believed that I had a lot of talent, and that I would be famous someday, and "make it big" as a jewelry designer. And that no matter what, he would always say, "God has a plan." Martin was always very encouraging, and he always told me how proud he was of me. He will be very much missed, but I am happy to have known him and have been so touched by his presence in my life. Thank you, Martin.

2009

I can't believe it's 2009 already! I swear, 2008 was the fastest year I've EVER LIVED! It's so funny, I just celebrated my 4 year anniversary of my line--it's been THAT LONG?? I just want to thank everyone for their support and encouragement for the past 4 years! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! xoxoxoxoxo

into the new year...

First of all, I can't believe it's 2008! What?? I'm still not over the fact that fall 2007 is long gone! When I went home for the holidays, it was nice to do a little "R & R", now having been back in LA for two weeks, I have been thrust into working my booty off, that's for sure...!

Here's the projects that my jewelry was borrowed for (only God knows if it was used/shot/will be printed in 3 months, etc):

A quick previous editorial update, I didn't make it into the february issue of Vibe, bummer! I was really looking forward to that! Oh well, such is the wacky world of editorial I guess! I wonder if I could find outtakes online somewhere..

Random bumping into a customer...

So I was in Nordstrom in San Francisco with my mom post-Christmas. I'm standing near the shoes, when I look over and recognize this guy! He bought my silver key necklace at the Qio party last week! At the party, he asked me if I had any jewelry for guys, and I said, "Yes, I DO!" and ran to the back room, grabbed the necklace, and sold it to him on the spot!!

So I run over to him and say, "Hey, you bought my silver key necklace at the Qio party last week!" He remembers, and we both talk about how weird it is that we ran into each other here...of all places!! Ahh...gotta love stuff like that!!

Maybe one day I will meet a cute, single, nice guy wearing my necklace whom I can approach! :)
